Welcome to the website of the Lowestoft Archaeological and Local History Society.
The Society meets twice a month from September through to June on Thursday evenings at the South Lowestoft Methodist Church on the corner of London Road South and Carlton Road Lowestoft. (see map below click to enlarge, map is moveable )

There is an annual membership fee but casual visitors are very welcome to attend a meeting on payment of small fee.
Meetings start at 7.30 pm and usually finish around 9 pm.
Visits to places of archaeological and Local interest are arranged from time to time and there is an annual Churches visit usually on the last Thursday in June. This outing is usually followed by a meal.
Members receive a free monthly newsletter which gives reports of past meetings and items of local interest.
The current Newsletter is available on another page. A archive of past newsletters is also available .This gives a good picture of the range and scope of the talks and activities enjoyed by the Society.
